The Vampire Diaries is one of the most popular CW shows that’s still creating an impact on the network. While the series ended in 2017, it gave rise to The Originals which focused on Klaus and the Mikaelson family. The originals then in turn produced its spin-off named The Legacies. The Legacies are a series about Klaus’ daughter.
However, recently, there have been some discussions regarding the status of The Vampire Diaries on Netflix. The show was supposed to leave Netflix back in March 2022. Although It appears that the deal has been changed to allow Netflix to keep it a little longer. Presently, the site itself is declaring that the last day to stream the series will be September 3rd, 2022.
The official Vampire Diaries page on Netflix says the same. However, it did not specify whether all the seasons will be removed at once or not. Still, the subscribers are assuming that is the case. This news, however, isn’t that surprising because Warner Bros. has gradually been taking its popular shows off Netflix one by one.
After this popular show leaves Netflix, it will only be available on the platforms like Amazon, Apple, or Vudu. Therefore, the viewers will still have to pay to watch this series. It does seem likely that the show will eventually be transferred to HBO Max or the free, ad-supported CW Seed.
